(More customer reviews)Yes, they work. There are two red LEDs on either side of a central solar cell and electronics. The stick is clear plastic on 3 sides and white plastic on the bottom. Overall, zero aesthetic appeal...they look cheap and in no way enhance the daytime appearance of a landscape. The endcaps snap on--kinda--and the stakes (one on either end) are attached with a small screw. It is unlikely that the stakes will work w/o breaking free of the screw, but I wouldn't know because the stakes are oriented out the side of the light, not the bottom! How stupid is that? I guess, you could sand off the tab on the endpieces, rotate them 90 deg and glue them back on--but, I fear this lack of design reflects the lights' overall quality, and I'm not expecting to having them for long.
